Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a recognized healthcare profession dedicated to helping infants, children, and adults become more independent with daily living skills. Physical Therapists assist children and adults improve or restore motor and mobility skills. For children, this may mean improved play skills or improved balance and coordination skills to join their peers.
Psychological Counseling
The School for Achievement at Wraparound Services of the Hudson Valley employs licensed clinical social workers to meet the needs of our students. Our licensed clinical social workers provide individual services dedicated to assisting our students in managing crises and ongoing life challenges.
Vision Services
At The School for Achievement, vision services are coordinated by the Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI). Vision services include initial screenings and Functional Vision Assessments, the teaching of visual and compensatory skills, and assistance in environmental adaptations.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is a recognized healthcare profession dedicated to helping people of all ages live as independently as possible. Occupational Therapists help children and adults learn functional skills that are used in their daily lives. For children, this may mean improved play skills, increased independence with self-care skills or improved socialization.
Adaptive Equipment
Adaptive equipment allows students with disabilities to interact with their school community effectively. Wheelchairs, SMART Boards, walkers, modified I-Pads, and ramps are all examples of adaptive equipment used by disabled individuals each day. The School for Achievement is a leader in the use of adaptive equipment.
Speech Therapy
The School for Achievement Speech-Language Pathologists are New York State certified and are trained in, but not limited to, children with diagnosed syndromes such as Autism, Down Syndrome, or Hearing Impairment, and persons with neurological problems related to certain diseases and syndromes.
Vocational Therapy
Our Agency has years of experience in developing job-related skills to assist our population of students in accessing employment opportunities. Vocational training is individualized and focuses upon the development of skills to get and keep a job.
